Product Packaging to Entice Customers

When it comes to product packaging, first impressions count. It’s important to be mindful of how you package your products to entice your customers. This applies whether your products are on a shelf in a brick-and-mortar store, or if you ship directly to your customers. Here are some helpful tips to make sure you package your products in the best way possible to boost sales and enhance your customers’ experience.

Stay consistent with branding

Branding is an important part of your packaging. You want your product packaging to help deliver on the experience your customers expect based on your branding. Also, you want to avoid looking too similar to your competitors. At best, your brand might be less memorable. At worst, people might consider your brand a knock-off version of your competitors.

Look at the various price points for packaging

When sourcing packaging for your business, many suppliers are likely available. This is an advantage as a business owner because you can shop around for the supplier that fits your needs and budget.

With various price points for packaging, consider how packaging will influence your profit. You might find that you spend a little bit more on your packaging in order to provide a quality service that will make your money back through profits over time.

Make it easy to open up

With packaging, you want to make it easy enough to open up. There’s nothing more frustrating for a customer than difficult packaging that keeps them from the product they’re so excited about. You want to get the balance right between strong enough and secure enough to be distributed from A to B, but also easy enough to break open with your hands.

Offer gift wrapping paper as an upsell

Gift wrapping paper is a great upsell for any product when it’s bought online or in-store. It adds an extra layer of convenience for your customers (if they intend to gift your products) and gives you the opportunity to potentially earn more. Around special events and holidays, you could offer free gift wrapping as an incentive to increase sales.

Look at offering environmentally friendly options

Finally, always be conscious of offering environmentally friendly options when it comes to product packaging. Many more customers are becoming more conscious about the brands and companies they choose to shop with. It matters how their favorite brands view their impact on the environment.
